FFmpeg FLV Converter - Transcode FLV to AVI/MPG

FFmpeg is open-source software that that converts video or audio into another format. In this article I will be showing you how to use FFmpeg to convert FLV videos to AVI/MPG videos.

If you search Google for a free method to convert the flv video files, you will find that all of the
"free flv converter" programs are not really free. These supposedly free programs are nothing more than freeware or trail programs, that try to get you to buy their full product. Luckily I won't be selling you any snake oil to today. Rejoice, FFmpeg is an open-source, you do not need to pay anything, and you can install it for free.

How to Turn Off Pidgin Notification Balloons

The notification balloons, introduced by Ubuntu in version 9.04, are lets face it, really distracting!. Especially the pop-up balloons associated pidgin, i.e when a new user signs in. Every time someone logs in, a little balloon pops up, and always breaks my focus, and stops my train of thought.

Installing Adobe Air 64 bit on Ubuntu

I recently discovered I could play videos on my Xbox 360. Awesome. No longer do I have hook up a monstrous audio in, and s-video cables every time I want to watch South Park. Now I can just fire up my Xbox and watch the movies from my file server.
