I recently discovered I could play videos on my Xbox 360. Awesome. No longer do I have hook up a monstrous audio in, and s-video cables every time I want to watch South Park. Now I can just fire up my Xbox and watch the movies from my file server.

Share Media to Your XBox 360 with Linux Media Server

Do you want to share media downloaded from the internet with your Xbox 360 and watch it on a high-def TV and stereo system using uShare or Fuppes.

The standard way to watch videos on an Xbox 360 is using Windows Media Center PC or streaming through Windows Media Connect on a laptop or desktop computer. However Microsoft limits the file formats it supports. Only allowing you to watch videos that adhere to their copyright standards. Which is bad news fro you if you want to watch DivX movies downloaded from BitTorrent or anywhere on the internet.

The good news is you can install uShare on a linux computer with modest hardware. uShare allows you to directly stream downloaded videos to the Xbox 360. The videos are stored on the same computer that the software is installed on, and never downloaded to Xbox 360 hard drive.
